Are you a little disappointed about Joshua Ledet, though? I mean, let’s be honest — African American men sometimes have trouble getting in there on Idol. Why is that?
[Laughs] You know, I don’t know what it is. I think Jennifer Hudson is a great example that you don’t have to win to do anything and I think he has an amazing voice and I think he’s going to have a great career whether he wins or loses.
Who were you rooting for most this season who you think left prematurely?
I was rooting for Colton Dixon. He’s an amazing guy. Hollie [Cavanagh] was one of my favorites — she just had a pureness about her. Colton, Hollie, I loved DeAndre [Brackensick]. I love Joshua Ledet. It was a great season this year!
